Protect Your High-Temperature Protective "Soft Armor" – Maintenance Guidelines for Ceramic Fiber Cloth
Ceramic fiber cloth features high temperature resistance, heat insulation, flame retardancy and flexibility. It is a core material for industrial thermal insulation, fire sealing, welding protection and new energy safety applications. Proper maintenance can greatly extend its service life, guarantee protective performance and reduce potential safety hazards.
Prioritize Moisture-Proof Storage
Store the cloth in a dry, ventilated and cool area, away from rain, dampness and prolonged sunlight exposure. Moisture will clump fibers and degrade performance, while direct sunlight accelerates aging. Roll or lay the cloth flat and wrap it with moisture-proof film. Keep it far from acids, alkalis, oil stains, chemical agents and sharp hard objects to avoid corrosion, scratches and deformation caused by compression.Standardize Operation to Prevent Damage
Avoid forceful pulling, repeated bending and excessive friction. Fibers become less flexible under high-temperature working conditions, so handle with care during installation and use. Never operate the cloth beyond its rated temperature, otherwise the fabric will burn and pulverize. When exposed to molten slag, sparks and high-temperature splashes, add an extra protective layer to mitigate direct impact. Secure the cloth firmly after installation to prevent displacement, which would impair its protective functions.Adopt Scientific Cleaning Methods to Preserve Performance
For daily cleaning, gently sweep or wipe the cloth with a soft brush or compressed air; washing is not recommended. If cleaning is necessary, dab lightly with a small amount of clean water and dry immediately. Do not soak, knead or machine wash the cloth. Promptly remove residual oil stains and chemical contaminants to prevent erosion of the fiber structure.Conduct Regular Inspections and Timely Replacements
Routinely check the cloth surface for cracks, fiber shedding, hardening and discoloration. Replace the cloth right away once signs of failed protection appear; never continue using damaged products. Ceramic fiber cloth loses tensile strength after high-temperature exposure, so disassemble and install it gently to minimize secondary wear.Diligent maintenance delivers long-lasting protection. By keeping the cloth dry, free from compression, chemical corrosion and rough handling, you can maintain its stable high-temperature resistance and thermal insulation performance, providing reliable safeguards for safe industrial production.
